Trapeze Desktop™
Trapeze Desktop™ and Scanning
Benefits
- Reduce your scanning and indexing costs by 90%.
-
Don't waste time and money with unnecessary 'over
indexing'.
- Index only what is needed - as required.
- Let your own users do the indexing - often only they
know what the documents in the file really are.
- Scan now - index later.
- Index only the files needing to be indexed, as and
when necessary.
- Trapeze Desktop™'s 'Hands Free' indexing means no typing
is necessary. Drag and drop the images into readymade folders. This is fully
functional over the web.
- Trapeze Desktop™ scanning is simple to use and easy to understand
and is very powerful in its indexing capabilities.

Screen capture of a multi-page, Planning Consent Application image file, with a set of folders already created during scanning. Ready for pages to be put into the folders by dragging and dropping the thumbnail images.

CASE STUDY The
MicroData migration from Microfilm To Electronic Scanning.
Trapeze Desktop™ enables you to mix files from different scanners and scanning systems in the one file.
Trapeze Desktop™ will handle image files from all standard batch
capture systems and many non-standard systems as well. Trapeze Desktop™ handles them
all.
- import into one standard TIFF file.
- huge colour, high resolution photographs.
- mutiple page TIFF files.
- well logs.
- seismic logs.
- medical images.
- maps.
- plans.
- images from film.
- photos from your camera.
Departmental and desktop scanning
-
Trapeze Desktop™ supports ad-hoc scanning and easy indexing of
documents. It allows you to compile internal indexes on multi-page files from
different sources such as A4 or letter sized documents and A0 drawings.
Empowers the user
-
It empowers the use of virtually any scanned image over
the web or within the office - including maps and plans. Users can provide
their own indexing of documents that have been scanned and delivered.

Tear off function
-
Put the morning's mail in the scanner, then chop it
into individual documents for your document management systems or database.
Separator Sheets for barcode recognition and automatic bookmarking during scanning
-
Use Trapeze Desktop™'s Separator Sheets to automatically
create bookmark folders while you are scanning.
- Trapeze uses special separator pages to separate
documents during scanning. (Onstream provides a utility to create the
separator pages). Each separator page will create a new folder and put all
the pages below it into that folder - just like a document in a file.
- If the separator pages have barcodes on
them, Trapeze Desktop™ will name the folders automatically.
Trapeze Desktop™ in conjunction with other capture systems
If you use another system to capture your image files,
then a Trapeze utility can automatically put predetermined bookmark folders
into every image file, ready for the user to catalogue them.
The users can then index the file themselves using drag
and drop - no typing!
Note the following with respect to the example Planning Consent Application file shown in the Trapeze Desktop™ screen shot above:
- The document was scanned by a standard batch scanning product.
- The bookmark folders were added automatically (as part
of the capture process).
- These un-indexed files were then indexed by the end
users using drag and drop.
