'FileNET' announce the withdrawal of Watermark.

In August 1999, 'FileNET' announced the withdrawal of Watermark.

FileNET has stated:

• Effective December 31 1999, FileNET will no longer sell Watermark 3.x.
• Effective December 31 1999, FileNET will no longer support Watermark 2.x
• Effective March 31 2000, FileNET will no longer support Watermark 3.x

• Extracts the base data to help in the building of the new database structure. This includes the Watermark Document Types (A list of user defined document types. E.g. Invoice, Payment Advice etc.)
• Extracts the Watermark index data for every document and converts it to a form suitable for loading into the system of your choice
• Extracts the actual documents themselves from the Watermark repository and transfers them to an open repository without conversion. Watermark made industry standard image files, which we have always found to be read by other imaging products

WMExtract

• Comes with an 'Install' (and uninstall) utility. It is simple to install, can work on any client workstation or the watermark server itself.
• Has an 'Uninstall' utility. You can use it on a client site and leave the system clean afterwards.
• Has a 'Step By Step' and 'Batch' processing capability.
• Has 'Disk Space Management' features: the extraction from Watermark process will be stopped if the disk nears "Full".
• Has 'Interrupt' and 'Resume' capabilities.
• Has a 'Progress Indicator' on screen: You will be able to see exactly what is going on.
• Provides full 'Data Logging': All errors are logged - including such things as records that have no images stored against them.
• Comes with easy to understand simple On-line Documentation.
• Takes into account some of the "special characteristics" of the Watermark Hierarchical Management System.
• Has 'Fault Tolerance' built in: Even if Watermark HSM crashes, the WMExtract will be able to start again from the last completed Watermark document.
