Prior to her recent appointment to Onstream Systems, Janice Roth was based in South Africa working in a number of senior
marketing positions for companies such as Philips SA, Plessey Communication
Systems, Telkom and Ericcsson SA.
She moved over to the Australasia region 3 years ago, and has based herself in
Wellington, New Zealand, as her city of choice.
"New Zealand is an extremely challenging, but interesting business arena to work in" she said, "in that this is a small country, with very talented
people designing and developing amazing new products, which often don’t reach
the international market due to lack of resources or entrepreneurial skills in
getting the products to market."
She brings to Onstream her skills on how to interpret the strategic planning process into realistic sales and marketing tactics, getting products to market via the most effective channel, and understanding how to compete on an international level. "Competing is not about aggressive marketing tactics" she says, "but in really understanding what your customers' business is about, and giving them a solution that helps them get closer to their own customers".
She made the decision to join Onstream because they have a philosophy that "people sell to people."
Educated through the University of South Africa and the privately-operated Damelin College, Ms Roth created a sales and marketing process known as MIP which she has successfully introduced into each organisation she has worked with.
Now, however, she has a ‘passion for growing small to medium-sized companies’ so that they can thrive profitably in both national and international markets.
She believes wholeheartedly that there is very little people cannot do if they set their minds to it and describes Onstream Systems as being a team of ‘people with brilliant minds putting together exceptional people-friendly products.’
She has 2 adult children, one in the USA and
the other in Scotland.
Outside of work her hobbies involve the informal study of criminology, flying, international travel, and hiking on icebergs in remote places.
